Welcome to UK International Policing
This website is for anyone with an interest in International policing. It has been designed to give you access to the UK international Policing Guidelines and a broad range of supporting documentation, information about the Assessment and Planning Group and also information on a number of organisations from around the world working in the security sector reform field.
International Policing Guidelines
The International policing guidelines have been developed to provide UK police officers, and their successors, who participate in peace support operations around the world with a clear framework for their work, by outlining, among other things, how the UK should conduct its international policing and wider rule of law activities in such operations, and by setting out internationally accepted principles of democratic policing.
Building on the excellent reputation UK officers have earned overseas, the document aims to ensure a continuing high standard of competence and integrity, and to make the UK response to operations more consistent by providing accessible information and practical guidance.
